PLENARY IX - FIGHTING INEQUALITIES: THE ROLE OF THE SOCIAL STATE IN THE WIDER ATLANTIC

"Our consumption and production model is incompatible with the climate requirements of the planet. We cannot continue in this trajectory, as we have attained a level of emergency. We have also reached a level of accumulation of wealth that is absolutely astonishing. The 1% richest part of the world has the same welfare as half of the planet. This problem and climate change are the same problem. We have to address it very quickly".

Carlos Lopes, Professor, University of Cape Town - Guinea Bissau

AD TALK I: UN MONDE FRAGMENTE - REGARDS CROISES NORD-SUD

André Azoulay, Advisor to His Majesty King Mohammed VI - Morocco

Hubert Védrine, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs - France

Fouad Yazourh, Director General of Bilateral Relations and Regional Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates - Morocco

PLENARY X - IN SEARCH OF A CONSOLIDATED LATIN AMERICA: FORMER LATIN AMERICAN PRESIDENTS DISCUSS OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHANGE

"Europe had wars, rivalries, different languages, religions but managed to integrate. In Latin America, the only functioning joint market is for football transfers."

Jorge Tuto Quiroga, Former President, Search of a Consolidated Latin America - Bolivia

PLENARY XI - THE FUTURE WE WANT

"Right now, we should focus on climate resilience. It means how are we going to survive, with our current settings, in various industries, to a climate that will change".

Amine Derj, Co-founder & CEO, Jodoor - Morocco

CLOSING REMARKS

"We hear, we listen, we give opportunities to researchers from all parts of the Atlantic. There were many open discussions, and without 'langue de bois'. As it gets more complex, we need to intensify our discussions".
