Chinese Investments in Africa
(In French) Chinese investment across Africa is not limited to underground mining, contrary to what was emphasized during the 2010 decade. Chinese operators, with their focus on the long term, are more and more patient and discreet, not targeting mining investments only. This study identifies ten or so sectors as the main beneficiaries of these investments, with the transport and energy sectors alone accounting for 60% of the total over the 2005-2013 period.
