In the first month of 2022, ADEL alumnus Juan Diego Mujica Filippi from the 2019 cohort, spoke in a PCNS webinar with in-house experts Abdelaaziz Ait Ali & Ahmed Ouhnini on “Purpose Driven Companies and the Regulation of the Fourth Sector”, an international research project that Juan Diego coordinated and to which he invited the Policy Center for the New South to contribute.

This webinar presented the Morocco Jurisdictional Report, that was the result of a joined inter-institutional effort between the PCNS, the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

ADEL Alumni Contributions, Publications, and Collaborations

All year round, the PCNS opens its platform and invites ADEL alumni to contribute to its analytical production and opinion pieces. The goal is to create an intergenerational space and encourage the contribution of experts from the ADEL alumni community.

Opinions:

Four opinions were written by ADEL alumni and published by the PCNS during the first quarter of 2022. Two of them were written by Morten Seja (ADEL 2014) & co-authors (Charlie Knight, Hadley Hilgenhurst, Omair Azam). The first one dissected the subject of Green Finance Taxonomies & the second one analyzed Data Collection & Inclusive Green Finance. The other two opinions were on Celebrating Leading Women Who Break the Bias by 2016 ADEL alumna Mary-Jean Nleya, published on March 8 on International Women’s Rights Day, and  “The Neglected Side of the Coin: The Need for Water Demand Management” by 2019 ADEL alumnus Ahmed Rachid El Khattabi, published a couple of days prior to World Water Day 2022. You can find all ADEL Opinion pieces here.

A Research Project Dedicated to Emerging Leadership

Emerging leadership and the leadership journey of young professionals is at the heart of the Policy Center's interests. In order to explore the different facets of leadership, the Policy Center for the New South carried out an in-depth study in collaboration with Economia HEM Research Center about “Emerging leaders: a model for empowering the next generation”, which focused on the ADEL community as a case study. This research project, which was launched in December of 2018, is now available on the Policy Center’s website.

Thank you to all ADEL alumni who took part in the quantitative research part of the project and who responded to the survey. An English version of the report will be available soon.

ADEL alumna Patricia Ahanda (ADEL 2019) was interviewed by PCNS Research Assistant Souha Majidi on current French president Emmanuel Macron’s geopolitical strategy in Africa titled “A la reconquête de l’Afrique : la stratégie géopolitique d’Emmanuel Macron” [in French].

ADEL Alumni Features and Collaborations

ADEL alumna Hanae Bezad, founder of Douar Tech, appeared in one of March 2022 editions of the weekly Moroccan magazine Telquel where her journey as a serial entrepreneur attempting to bridge societal gaps is put forth. The piece describes her vision of  entrepreneurship as “an opportunity for freedom, that she works to transmit to the society.”

The ADEL program is also an opportunity to meet future collaboration or business partners.
